We, the citizens of Kitzingen, are responsible for our acts towards
God or ourselves and the generations to come. In awareness of this we
give our town the following guiding ideals. Our actions are aimed towards
sustainability, with regard to safeguarding the future.
Social, ecological and economical aspects
have the same priorities. We will preserve things worthy to protect and
of proven value. We will face modern development with an open mind thereby
paving the way for progress. We will keep present in our awareness our
historical, cultural and intellectual heritage, learn from it and pass
it on to our descendents.
Our

of manageable size and with personal character. Our fellow citizens enjoy
living here and find social unity. Our relations we build upon tolerance
and social behaviour.
Peace within as well as solidarity in our society are based upon mutual
respect and the open, courageous treatment of inconsistencies and conflicting
aims. We repudiate the use of physical force as a means of dispute.

to more transparency and broader agreement in the necessary decisions. We
are open to citizens of different origin and cultural background.
These we offer a hometown where they can integrate themselves without remaining
foreigners. We demand and support civil courage. We intercede for minorities.
In our growing children and adolescents are the future generation of Kitzinger
citizens. They and their families are due our particular attention as well
as our support. We venerate our senior citizens and their contribution to
our town. Disabled people are incorporated in our towns daily affairs and
their interests will be taken into account.

a living town. They will be furthered, supported and valued. The principle

regards itself as the centre of a recreational landscape that links culture
with leisure and sport. It is easy to reach by road , train or boat and
is therefore an attractive site for the economy. The situation on the
river Main, the medieval town silhouette with its towers, churches, the
former synagogue and the old tradition as a wine trading town are the
pillars of a development towards the future as a place to live, a place
to do business and a tourist destination.
Kitzingen is an attractive shopping centre for inhabitants
as well as visitors. The products of Kitzinger viticulture, horticulture
and market gardeners are trademarks in our region and far beyond. The
direct situation close to the river Main with its manifold potential of
leisure and recreation contributes to the quality of living as well as
a wide range of possibilities in the gastronomy.
Kitzingen

among the citizens, its representatives and the administration. The Town
Council and the town’s administration avow the principles of the
guidelines and make it their responsibility to develop it further. All
of us in Kitzingen are called upon to translate these guidelines into
reality and to contribute actively in its control and further development.
